There are exciting things to come in 2012!
Hello everyone! We hope you are having a healthy, happy, and prosperous start to 2012. Around the holidays, the partnership we have with one another is so important. Because we care so deeply about our families and want to have a balance in our personal lives as we advise our patients to do, we take turns and allow each other to have time off to enjoy our families worry-free, knowing that one of us will always be there to look after our patients.
For example, Dr. Bohn covered us over Thanksgiving, so she had a week off over the Christmas holidays to spend with her kids and husband. And it was definitely a holiday season full of babies! Dr. Hill even delivered four baby girls in one day! And Dr. Park delivered a baby on Christmas Eve, just minutes before Christmas Day. It’s always special to be a part of such an amazing time in a woman’s life. She got to say “Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas.”
When we leave the labor and delivery floor and are in the elevator heading to the office, we often see a new mother in a wheelchair holding her newborn baby in her arms ready to go home. It’s one of our favorite parts of what we do and a joy to see. The baby is swaddled in a blanket with either a cute little blue or pink beanie, and despite being exhausted, the mother is beaming with pride as all the elevator riders goo and gah over the precious new life. All the onlookers congratulate her as they exit their respective floors. It gives us such joy knowing that a new life is brought into the world safely and all the hope this little being brings to all of us.
We are looking forward to all that this next year ahead will bring. Our newsletter will be going out monthly, bringing you our best advice, personal thoughts, and of-course, myth-busting tips! And our new series of television shows is now in production! More on this in the months ahead….
Wishing you all the best in the year to come,
The Mommy Docs
